I'm Alegra Loewenstein; I write and edit for medical and science professionals who are conducting original research while meeting the many demands of their career and lives.
My specialty is working closely with medical and bioscience research professionals in academic settings. I help write grants to obtain funding, based on previous applications and research. I offer high-level developmental editing, turning what many of my clients call "word vomit" into polished and ready to submit articles for prestigious and high-impact peer reviewed journals. I support the many additional writing and editing needs of my clients, from writing letters of interest to cover letters to award applications on your behalf, all in order to support my clients' research to receive the funding and recognition it deserves. I am a trusted confidant for my clientele, providing confidential writing support for your career and research. |

At the times my work expands outside of architecture and into the urban planning and policy arena, the need for writing increases exponentially, as the reliance shifts from the fully visual to more verbal. Alegra wrote a chapter for me to use in an anthology. The process could not have been easier! It took almost no time from me, which was great because my business is growing, and time is at a premium. The time we did spend together discussing the book was actually fun- and easy to fit into my schedule. I bring qualified clients on with a modest retainer of 4 hours per month for $400. These hours expire at the end of the month; they do not roll over. Additional hours beyond 4 per month are billed in 5 minute increments at the rate of $85/hour. I always aim to be an efficient service provider, making sure your money is well spent. With a limited client roster, I can provide fast turn around (generally within a week, often within a day or two). Contracts are renewed at the beginning of each calendar year and rates are subject to change with contract renewals.

I had an idea but was not a good writer. Alegra seemed genuinely interested, and her questions were proof. She quickly developed an outline to organize all this information. The outline took shape and soon turned into chapters. Alegra utilized motivational interviewing techniques to really dig around to get the story out of me; rattling my memory, shaking me up.
