It's sooooo easy to fall into the trap of blaming certain things or people for what is happening to us. Sometimes this is helpful, when it helps you take the pressure of yourself, but sometimes it is hurtful, when it disempowers or distracts us.
Looking at letting go, or forgiving, is a powerful way to shift the blame. How does forgiveness fit into what we are eating and reaching our ideal, natural weight? It's at the heart of the matter! The women I work with are done dieting. They are tired of feeling like eating makes them a failure. They are ready to forgive themselves for falling off the wagon with all the diets of the past, and forgive themselves for ever thinking that a diet would bring them what they desired. I, too, have worked on forgiveness. I used to binge on sugar and swear it off only to binge again days later. It takes forgiveness to stop that cycle. It's time to declutter some of the emotions and energy that we've all been carrying around for the past two years.
Let's be honest: We are living in a crazy time. I know you might have just made the new year's resolution to lose weight or exercise every day or stop eating sugar or whatever... and likely that's already been knocked down and maybe you are feeling kind of hopeless about it already. We need to be a bit gentle on ourselves. You aren't going to succeed by trying to do it all at once. The message I keep getting over and over from the universe lately to relax and chill out more. To stop worrying about what my next step is going to be. This does not come natural to me! I am a planner and I am a doer. Sure, I like to relax... But lately usually only during the allotted portion of my calendar or schedule! So I am cultivating more the spirit of unwinding and doing nothing.
I light of that, I also don't want you to try something crazy yet again, because it's new year's, because your friends are doing it... I don't want you to fall off the wagon yet again and beat yourself over that because what those programs are doing is either lying to you (Oh this powder will make you lose weight and give you energy and help you sleep through the night...NOT). OR they are giving you something totally unrealistic to strive for as a goal... I'm sorry... LIVE IN KETOSIS???? THAT'S CRAZY TALK!!! You can eat carbs, my friend! You just can't binge on them. I want you to make the REAL change that will keep you on track FOREVER!!! YES, FOREVER!!! Forever is the only diet that will work, and the good news is that it has to be fun, and relatively easy, and delicious, or it just won't work. So, join me, have fun, move your body, explore the actual emotional triggers that are sabotaging your efforts, understand what is making these changes difficult, and learn to LIVE IN FLOW so you can keep succeeding!!! ?
